Dr. Rothermel earned his Ph.D. in Political Science from Temple University in January 2010. His research interests include labor internationalism, international organizations, and pedagogy. Dr. Rothermel is the co-advisor of the Political Science Club, advisor of the Mansfield University Model United Nations Organization (MU2NO), and the Director of the Canadian Studies program. He is also Treasurer of the local chapter of APSCUF, the faculty and coaches union.
Previously, Dr. Rothermel attended Millersville University for his B.A. in Political Science and Alvernia College for a secondary education certification. Dr. Rothermel taught social studies at Pennridge High School in Perkasie, PA. He is originally from Boyertown, PA. He also served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve from 1990-1996.
Dr. Rothermel lives nearby in Wellsboro with his wife, Sheri, and two children, Luke and Lena Grace. In his spare time, he likes to spend time with his family, travel, hike, and play basketball.
