The camp is open to junior high school and high school age percussionists. Campers are grouped according to age and ability and also participate in combined activities.
The Percussion Camp at Mansfield University is an exciting opportunity for young percussionists to explore the versatile world of percussion. During the week we will explore Drum Set, Drum Line, Concert Percussion, Steel Pan, Mexican Marimbas, Chamber Music (duets, trios and quartets) and Hand Drumming/World Percussion. We look forward to expanding your percussion experience with excellent opportunities for fun and growth! There is no other percussion camp like the Mansfield University Percussion Camp!
All participants will receive individual instruction as well as small group instruction. Campers will participate in highly educational, fun and intensive days of percussion and recitals by faculty and students. Core topics include snare drum and multi-percussion, drum set, mallet percussion, timpani, repertoire, sight-reading, listening, ensemble performance, practice, learning and more. The camp culminates in a demonstration performance for parents, family and friends.
